Background
When my mom was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2015, we were terrified of the road ahead of us but my mom was the support for everyone and continued to be the positive force in life. I was excited to be able to be my mom’s donor for her bone marrow transplant and I can’t explain the joy when she was able to come down and sit with me while I spent my birthday collecting my stem cells for her donation the following day. While the transplant technically worked, her cancer was one step ahead of anything the team of doctors could imagine.
Mom was always the light in any room with her smile, outgoing personality, and her compassion. She was intelligent and had a great sense of humor. Her mother always told her she would get a replica of her for a daughter and I am proud to say I am just that. Being like her is the best compliment anyone could ever give me.
It's never easy to lose a loved one, but with the help and support of the village of people that supported me, I have been able to push through the difficult times and focus on the next chapter of my life to make her proud. We started this foundation to create these positive shared experiences for more people and to raise awareness and funding for important causes.
As always, thanks for your support,
