In Memory of Stephanie Luengen
I am very appreciative of the support from everyone from my family to my mother’s coworkers and high school friends. This first year, of course, is never easy but with the help and support of the village of people my mother’s life touched I have been able to push through the difficult times and focus on the next chapter of my life to make her proud.
Mom was always the light in any room with her smile, outgoing personality, and her compassion. She was intelligent and had a great sense of humor. Her mother always told her she would get a replica of her for a daughter and I am proud to say I am just that. Being like her is the best compliment anyone could ever give me.
When my mom was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2015, we were terrified of the road ahead of us but my mom was the support for everyone and continued to be the positive force in life. I was excited to be able to be my mom’s donor for her bone marrow transplant and I can’t explain the joy when she was able to come down and sit with me while I spent my birthday collecting my stem cells for her donation the following day. While the transplant technically worked, Mom’s cancer was one step ahead of anything the team of doctors could imagine.
As always, thanks for your support,
Trish Luengen
